Best time to grow / start your Coral Tree bonsai in South Africa:

The ideal time to sow Coral Tree seeds is spring to early summer (September to December), when temperatures are warming.

• Best window: September–November in most regions.
• Seeds have a hard coat – soaking overnight in warm (not boiling) water, or light scarification, improves germination.
• Germination usually takes 1–4 weeks in warm, moist, well-drained conditions.
• Place seedlings in full sun once established. Coral trees prefer well-drained soil and dislike constantly wet feet. Young plants need frost protection for the first few winters; established trees are more tolerant. Water more in summer and keep drier in winter dormancy.
